More offers from Telus
Looking to upgrade your current phone plan?
A heads up for those who may qualify for Telus winback - (BC)
Missed a call from Telus winback, so called in myself (1pm PST). (1-833-896-0450)
Was offered:
200GB 5G+ Unlimited Can/USMexico $45
($50plan -$5 Autopay)
Said I’d think about it. Called back the next day (after 5pm PST) , was offered:
60GB 5G+ Unlimited Can/US/Mexico $35.
($40plan - $5 Autopay)
Shareable Data
Up to 2Gbps
Unlimited Int. Msg
Unlimited Calling to/from Can/US/Mex
Voicemail 25
Call Display, etc.
Regular Mobility (not EPP) - BYOD
Way happier with option 2- I don’t personally need that much data, and would rather save $ instead.
They also offered Stream+ (with adds) for $18/m for 3 months - but that’s nothing special. Premium was $38.
I put the relevant time of day, since I know I ended up talking to two different teams having called at the times I did (may vary what plans they have to offer)
As always YMMV. Hope this helps someone!
Edit: this is permanent / no expiring credits or anything (well, unless Telus decides to jack up the price in the future I guess).

As U4Life replied, no to both.
Got a second line added - no additional discount.

Would existing Telus customers need to switch to some other provider and then call this number to get this plan

They will not increase the plan price without advising you of their intent of doing so. Check your bill when you receive it and any changes etc. will be at the bottom. I've been with Telus for close to 3 years on a $30 plan and received their intent to increase twice, both times I called and had that removed. Please and thank you goes a long way.

Is the data sharable between lines/watch/tablets?
Some people just don't get that online forum posts shouldn't always be taken seriously.

Crazy how competitive the mobility market is now. The benefits of offshoring 95% of your Canadian workforce, I guess.

What is "whats out rn" ?
Are they currently offering a 200GB plan for $30 or not? By the way, can you finance the phone with this plan?

Would have been a good deal for when I still crossed the border often.
Another concern of mine is my home internet is with Telus. I'd like to use a different provider for my phone in case one of them is down like the major Rogers service outage in 2022. Am I worrying too much?

It's reflective in all the telecom stocks price. Thanks to Québecor's Freedom/Fizz for it's aggressive pricing strategy to gain market share. However, their CEO did claim that it may not last forever in their Q4 notes. So enjoy it while it last!

I'd like to know this too! You don't just drop a bomb like this and not follow up.
Is $30/200GB still available with winback??
