YOUR WAKE UP CALL. WE AIRED EVERY MORNING AT 615. ALL RIGHT, LET’S TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER TODAY, BECAUSE WE HAVE A LOT TO GET THROUGH. FIRST AND FOREMOST, THERE’S SOME MORNING SHOWERS, SOME MORNING DRIZZLE AND SOME FOG OUT THERE TO CONTEND WITH FOR THE MORNING DRIVE. LATER ON TODAY, THERE MAY BE AN ISOLATED SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM THIS AFTERNOON OR THIS EVENING, BUT I REALLY THINK ISOLATED IS THE KEY WORD HERE. I DON’T SEE MUCH ACTION ON OUR PREDICTOR LATER TODAY. HOWEVER, TONIGHT WE HAVE AN IMPACT NIGHT FOR YOU BECAUSE WE WILL SEE RAIN AND IT COULD BE HEAVY AT TIMES OVERNIGHT. COULD ALSO HEAR RUMBLES OF THUNDER IN THE OVERNIGHT AS WELL. HERE’S OUR SEVERE WEATHER RISK TODAY ISSUED BY THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER. AND WE’RE STILL IN A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER, ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN TRIMMED JUST INTO SOUTHERN COUNTIES FOR THE MOST PART. SO WHAT WE’RE GOING TO BE WATCHING OUT FOR, IF ANY STORM FIRES UP LATER TODAY, IT COULD PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS, SOME HAIL, SOME FLASH FLOODING, ESPECIALLY OVERNIGHT TONIGHT WITH THAT HEAVY RAIN AND A WEAK SPIN UP TORNADO. SO THOSE ARE ALL THREATS PROVIDED WE GET THESE THUNDERSTORMS GOING. SO LET’S CHECK THE PREDICTOR FOR THIS MORNING. WE ARE SEEING A DECAYING LINE OF SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM THE WEST, DRIFTING INTO THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. THAT WILL PRODUCE SOME RAIN FOR US FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. SOME SHOWERS, SOME DRIZZLE, AND THEN LARGELY BY LUNCHTIME. MOST OF THE RAIN IS WINDING DOWN. HERE WE ARE THIS AFTERNOON. NOTICE THERE’S NOT MUCH GOING ON EVEN THIS EVENING. I DON’T SEE MUCH POPPING UP ON THE PREDICTOR, SO I THINK OUR STORM CHANCE IS LIMITED LATER TODAY. BUT REMEMBER, IF A STORM DOES FORM UP, IT COULD PRODUCE SOME GUSTY WINDS AS OUR PRIMARY THREAT. NOW, TONIGHT, WATCH THIS COLD FRONT DROPS IN AND SETTLES OVER THE AREA. AND THAT’S GOING TO PROVIDE THE FOCUS FOR SOME HEAVY RAIN OVERNIGHT. THIS IS 4 A.M. TOMORROW MORNING, 5:06 A.M. AND THEN THAT LINE MOVES OFF TO OUR EAST AND WEAKEN. SO I REALLY THINK THE POTENTIAL FOR THE HEAVY RAIN IS GOING TO BE OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. HOW MUCH RAIN CAN YOU EXPECT ANYWHERE FROM A FEW TENTHS OF AN INCH, MAYBE UP TO A HALF INCH TO AS MUCH AS AN INCH IF YOU’RE UNDER THE HEAVIEST BANDS OF RAIN. SO MORE BENEFICIAL RAINFALL IN THE OVERNIGHT HOURS, BUT YOU MAY HEAR RUMBLES OF THUNDER AND THERE COULD BE SOME EMBEDDED GUSTY WINDS IN THAT LINE. SO WE’LL KEEP YOU POSTED OVERNIGHT. HERE’S OUR NEWS EIGHT STORM TEAM FORECAST TODAY. SHOWERS, DRIZZLE A LITTLE FOG THIS MORNING. TEMPERATURES RISING INTO THE 50S. LOOK AT THE HIGH TODAY 74 DEGREES. AND THIS EVENING TEMPERATURES WILL BE AROUND 70. WITH THAT SLIM CHANCE OF A SHOWER OR STORM. TONIGHT MUCH BETTER CHANCE FOR SOME HEAVY RAIN AT TIMES. OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL BE IN THE 50S AND THEN TOMORROW WE POP INTO THE 60S. NOT TOO BAD TO END THE WORKWEEK. ANY MORNING SHOWERS END AND THERE COULD BE A SPOTTY SHOWER LATER IN THE DAY ON FRIDAY. RIGHT NOW WE HAVE 50S TO THE WEST AND TO THE SOUTHWEST, 40S ELSEWHERE. BUT WE ARE SEEING A WARMING TREND. IT’S NOW 49 IN YORK, 46 IN HARRISBURG AND IN LANCASTER. WEATHER IN HEALTH UPDATE TODAY OUR TREE POLLEN LEVELS ARE HIGH, MOLD SPORES ARE LOW, AIR QUALITY IS GOOD. BUT THAT UV INDEX, IT’S GOING TO BE LOW DUE TO THE CLOUDS AND RAIN. A LITTLE LIGHT RAIN COMING INTO OUR NORTHERNMOST COUNTIES RIGHT NOW. BUT LOOK AT THIS LINE VERY WELL DEFINED. NOTICE IT’S LOSING ITS PUNCH JUST A LITTLE BIT. THE LIGHTNING STRIKE STARTING TO WEAKEN A LITTLE BIT. WE’RE NOT SEEING AS MANY WATCHES AND WARNINGS ALONG THAT LINE. SO AS IT MOVES TOWARD US LATER THIS MORNING, IT CERTAINLY WILL LOSE ITS PUNCH. JUST A LITTLE RAIN LATER THIS MORNING. QUIET THIS AFTERNOON. AND THEN AS WE HEAD TOWARD TONIGHT, THAT’S YOUR BEST BET FOR THE RAIN AND THE HEAVY RAIN AT TIMES. TOMORROW, MAYBE JUST A LINGERING SHOWER LATE IN THE DAY. I DO THINK IT’S MOSTLY CLOUDY AND MILD TOMORROW. AND THEN AS WE HEAD INTO SATURDAY, WE’LL START THE DAY WITH A FEW SHOWERS. JUST A COUPLE OF PASSING SHOWERS LATER IN THE DAY ON SATURDAY, MAYBE A RUMBLE OF THUNDER TOO, BUT SATURDAY WILL REACH THE 50S FOR OUR HIGHS. SUNDAY WE POP INTO THE 60S STILL WITH SOME RAIN CHANCES. NEITHER DAY IS A WASHOUT THOUGH, SO YOU WILL FIND DRY TIME OUTSIDE THIS WEEKEND. NEXT WEEK IT GETS COLDER EARLY IN THE WEEK. WE COULD POP INTO THE 40S. LOWS COULD DROP TO THE 20S. TUESDAY NIGHT. WE’LL KEEP A WATCHFUL EYE ON
